That is great to hear. Even though I am not a Redskins fan, I will be rooting for him every Sunday!
The Redskins have signed second-year safety Justin Hamilton, the team announced on Friday.
To make room for Hamilton on the roster, the Redskins released defensive back Stephen Tate, an undrafted rookie.
Hamilton, 6-3 and 222 pounds, played the 2006 season with the Cleveland Browns, totaling 15 tackles (13 solo) during his rookie season.
Hamilton was cut from the Browns on Sept. 1, 2007 and did not play last season.
He was originally a seventh-round draft choice by the Browns in 2006.
Hamilton played four seasons at Virginia Tech from 2002-05. He split time between running back and wide receiver, before moving to safety permanently during his senior season.
As a senior in 2005, Hamilton posted 35 tackles and three interceptions.
Hamilton grew up in Clintwood, Va., located in the western part of the state. He attended Clintwood High School.
Hamilton is expected to be on hand as the Redskins resume OTAs on June 2.
That is great to hear. Even though I am not a Redskins fan, I will be rooting for him every Sunday!
Good deal

HOW'S THAT HOPE AND CHANGE WORKING OUT FOR YA ??????
go to the redskins website and look at the message board seems like they are already putting him down
"Somebody may beat me, but they are going to have to bleed to do it." -Pre
look, hamilton played for my favorite team. there is a reason he was cut. he may very well improve and not make some of the mistakes he made as a brown. if i was a redskin fan i wouldn't be to high on a free agent coming in that has been cut by another team and releasing a guy my team had just signed. i'm glad for justin though. hopefully he can revive his career with washington.

Yep there was a reason he was cut, injuries. Probably a bad decision as the Browns wanted to put him on IR and he didn't want to sit out the whole year. It wasn't like he wasn't on the team one year and was considered by most to be a lock when he did get waived, till the ankle issues flared up again. I'm a Redskins fan so I love this news, but no doubt, he's got to stay healthy, and impress, but at least he's getting another chance.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
Yep. Injuries is the reason for him getting cut. I talk to a guy on a UT board who's brother works in the front office for the Browns. I asked him to ask his brother what he thought of him. He said that they loved him and loved that he was versatile enough to do a lot of different things for them. He also said he was one of the best character players on the team.
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
Good luck to Justin, I don't like the Skins but I wish the best for him. Glad to see he might stay in the NFL vs. the CFL, he may have never got back in the league.

Ah, a local player signs with my favorite team. I have heard that Hamilton hasn't done too well but it is still nice to see him sign with my team.
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
